Building a Board for Growth 

At a pivotal early stage of its scale-up journey and with the business poised to grow exponentially from its impressive existing client base, the Founder CEO called on our expertise to start to build their Board. 

Founded by CEO Peter Burke, Conker Cloud Innovations develops bespoke retail data and insight apps for large leading FMCG businesses.  

With a small team in place, and a new innovative SaaS product recently launched, the CEO needed strategic expertise to support the business in three key areas: marketing, in particular establishing brand and brand awareness; sales, focusing on a structured approach to sales pipeline and key relationship management; and helping keep strategic focus on product development, using market knowledge to stay ahead of competition.  

Excelerator Partners’ brief was to work with the Founder CEO to attract and recruit the first NED role onto the Board. In actual fact, we recruited not only a fantastic NED, but also a second individual into a Strategic Advisor role.   

We worked closely with Peter to understand not just the key elements of the brief, but as this was a small team, just as crucial was the culture and chemistry fit with Peter and his team. We were incredibly excited to present such an interesting and rare opportunity to our NED network.
